Strengthen the Organization

  1. Increase Membership
  2. Improve Communications
    • Develop process to contact new members and residents
  3. Focus on Advocacy
    • Develop process to connect doctors to community advocacy committees and vice versa
    • Develop advocacy training program to recognize advocates for AzAAP
    • Create process to identify specific people/specialists to hold specific seats for government committees
    • Develop process whereby government committees come to AzAAP for recommendations of Pediatricians to have seats on committees
  4. Explore Board Expansion
    • Expand board to include Rural and IHS
    • Change by laws
    • Recruit people to run for elected positions
  5. Clarify Relationship between PFA and AzAAP

Organization of Healthcare for Children

  1. Launch Pediatric Council
    • Address global issues salient to pediatrics with primary function of building relations and exchanging information
  2. Enhance Practice Advocacy to Address Individual Issues
    • Revitalize "hassle factor" forms
    • Create list and maintain updates of provider relations representatives from health plans
    • Create and update list of medical directors for health plans
    • Continue problem-solving
  3. Focus on Proactive Practice Management
    • Publish yearly reimbursement survey
    • EMR/EHR practice benchmark
  4. Enhance Quality Improvement
    • Improve number of submitted claims through AHCCCS
    • Train providers quarterly
    • Better implement PEDS development screening
    • Limit liability issue by improving safety of care
